Star Spangled Banner

Jimi was one of the most recognized musicians of the 20th century. He was known for his possibilities with the electric guitar. Hendrix created a new style of music, with his style of combining fuzz, feedback and controlled distortion. His new style of music had a lot of influence on musicians, from George Clinton to Miles Davis.

Jimi was self-taught and in his young days he concentrated a lot about music. Some of the artist who had influence on Young Jimmy(what he was called in his young days), was B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Holly, and Robert Johnson.

Hear My Train A Comin'

On September 18, 1970, Jimi died in London at the age of 27.

Before his death, Jimi was in poor health. Although the details of his final hours are questioned, he spent most of them with his girlfriend, Monika Dannemann. In the morning of September 18th, Monika found him unconscious in her apartment at the Samarkand Hotel. At 11:18 a.m., she called the ambulance, and Jimi was taken to the St. Mary Abbot's Hospital. At 12:45 p.m., he was pronounced dead.

When Hendrix died, his father - Al Hendrix - wanted to bury him at a family plot. He requested that his body was brought to his birthplace, and they then could begin production on the plot.
Despite Al having nearly not enough money to bring Jimi back, he created a family burial site

"I'm the one that has to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life, the way I want to." - Jimi Hendrix.
